have been granted refugee status by the Hellenic Republic you can obtain a residence permit, which will be valid for three (3) years. In order to renew your residence permit, you must apply by e-mail no later than thirty (30) calendar days before its expiry date to the <a href=\"https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/en\/gas\/dioikisi\/\">Asylum Unit for beneficiaries of international protection<\/a>. In case of late, unjustified application for renewal, a fine of one hundred (100) euro shall be imposed.<\/li><li>If you are a beneficiary of subsidiary protection, your residence permit is valid for one (1) year and may be renewed every two (2) years.<\/li><li>When you are granted international protection (refugee status or subsidiary protection) you also acquire the right to a residence permit. You will be given a decision by the Head of the Regional Asylum Office or Asylum Unit, which will indicate that it has been decided to grant you a residence permit (ADET).<\/li><li>To obtain your printed residence permit, however, you must lodge an application at a Passport Office.<\/li><\/ul><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11765\" src=\"https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/R10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"63\" height=\"63\" \/><\/p><p><strong>How to apply for a printed Residence Permit (ADET):<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>To obtain your printed Residence Permit, you must apply at a Police Directorate\/Passport Office. Please consult your Regional Asylum Office or Asylum Unit for the Police Directorate where you can apply. These cases are described below:<\/p><ul><li>If you had a child <u>in Greece or in another country<\/u>, your child can obtain a residence permit. In this case, you must apply to the competent Regional Asylum Office or Asylum Unit for a residence permit for your child, by presenting a copy of the birth certificate or identification document of your child, or, in the case of a child born outside Greece, a certificate equivalent to the birth certificate provided for by the legislation of the country of birth of the child, in a clear photocopy of a copy issued by the foreign authorities, certified by a lawyer and officially translated. You will then apply for a printout of the child\u2019s residence permit at the Passport Offices, as described above.<\/li><li>If you get married or enter into a civil partnership <u>after entering Greece<\/u>your spouse or partner may obtain a residence permit. In this case, both of you must submit an application to the competent Regional Asylum Office or Asylum Unit by producing the following documents:\u00a0<p>a) a copy of the marriage certificate of the marriage contracted in Greece with a holder of a valid residence permit or a certificate of the civil partnership contracted in Greece a holder of a valid residence permit, accompanied by the registration certificate. In the case of a marriage or civil partnership contracted outside Greece, a certificate equivalent to the above issued by the Foreign Authority as provided for by the legislation of that country, in a clear photocopy certified by a lawyer and officially translated;<\/p><p>b) a copy of the spouse\u2019s passport or valid travel document. If there is an objective impossibility of obtaining this due to special circumstances or situations, this must be declared in writing;<\/p><p>c) a copy of the spouse\u2019s valid residence permit.<\/p><p>You will then apply as described above for a printout of your residence permits at the Passport Offices.\u00a0<\/p><\/li><li>If your family members came to Greece through the \u201cfamily reunification\u201d procedure, they can obtain a residence permit if they present their original passport or travel document to the Asylum Service, and have their original visa for their entry into the country with\nthem.
