href=\"https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/fek_a_255_2020.pdf\">Presidential Decree 106 <\/a>(Government Gazette  A' -255-23\/12\/2020)<a href=\"https:\/\/migration.gov.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/fek_a_255_2020.pdf\">, <\/a>the Reception and Identification Service functions at the level of General Secretariat and has as strategic objectives to:<\/p><ul><li>coordinate the organization and operation of the central and regional Reception and Identification services,<\/li><li>identify the needs for the establishment and expansion of reception centers and accommodation structures,<\/li><li>coordinate the activities of the Reception and Identification services with the activities of the other Services of the Ministry, and\u00a0<\/li><li>effectively conduct reception, identification, and temporary residence procedures of third-country nationals or stateless persons entering the country without the standard legal processes.<\/li><\/ul><p>R.I.S consists of the following organic units:<\/p><ul><li>The Directorate of Reception and Identification Centers (RIC) and the Closed Controlled Access Centers (CCAC).<\/li><li>The Directorate of Northern Greece Facilities.<\/li><li>The Directorate of Southern Greece Facilities.<\/li><li>The Directorate of Administration Support<\/li><li>Independent degree in Political Science from the University of Crete, as well as a Master\u2019s degree in Comparative Education from the UCL Institute of Education.<\/p><p>Since January 2025, he has been serving as Governor of the Reception and Identification Service (RIS) of the General Secretariat for the Reception of Asylum Seekers at the Ministry of Migration and Asylum<\/p><p>From April 2020 until December 2024, he served as Governor of the Closed Controlled Structure of Kos under the Ministry of Migration and Asylum.<\/p><p>He has previously served as Secretary General of the Municipality of Kos (2013\u20132014) and as Special Advisor to the Mayor of Kos (2011\u20132012). During the municipal term 2019\u20132023, he was elected as member of the Municipal Councillor.<\/p><p>He served as a lecturer at the Hellenic Open University (2017\u20132022) as a member of the Adjunct Academic Staff in the undergraduate program \u201cBusiness and Organization Administration\u201d, delivering the module \u201cPublic Administration and Policy\u201d, and supervised master\u2019s theses in the postgraduate program \u201cLanguage Education for Refugees and Migrants (LRM)\u201d. In addition, he lectured the courses \u201cComparative Political Analysis, Comparative Public Policy, and Comparative Migration Policy\u201d at the Department of Political Science of the University of Crete  (2016\u20132019).\nSince 2005, he has worked as a researcher in co-funded programs and studies, and his work has been published in international conference proceedings, edited volumes and journals. He has participated in numerous seminars and conferences in Greece and abroad and is fluent in English.<\/p><p>He is married and has one
