Mitarachi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion of the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Lesvos, accompanied by H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Minister of Migration &amp; Asylum Mr. Notis Mitarachi stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This year&#8217;s visit of Pope Francis to the temporary RIC of Lesvos takes place under very different conditions compared to the last time he was on the island. Then, in 2016, in Lesvos, the signs of the migration crisis were obvious. Signs that fade every day and leave behind valuable European experience, but also an unwavering respect for the citizens of the Eastern Aegean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Mavrovouni, the temporary structure that replaced Moria, now all the residents live in huts, the flood protection works have been completed, there is a sense of security among the residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greece responded with self-denial to the refugees and immigrants who arrived in our country.
