Description: The primary objective of the project was to strengthen the infrastructure of the Asylum Service to ensure its uninterrupted and smooth operation, as well as to improve the effectiveness of access for vulnerable groups to asylum procedures in accordance with Greek, European, and Refugee Law. During the implementation of the Project, two Asylum Units specialized on asylum applicants with vulnerability status were created in Athens and Thessaloniki (rental and refurbishment of buildings) while their operation was supported through the financing of employees’ payroll and the purchase of office and IT equipment. In addition, a tele-interpretation system was purchased and installed, while the Cooperation Agreement between the Asylum Service and UDI was implemented.
