Participation of the Minister of Μigration and Asylum Mr. Notis Mitarachi in the extraordinary EU Home Affairs Council held in Brussels
The Minister of Migration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarachi, participated today at the works of the extraordinary EU Home Affairs Council, convened by the French Presidency, on the situation in Ukraine.
Upon his arrival to the Council Mr. Mitarachi made the following statement:
‘’The European Union and Greece strongly condemn the Russian attack on Ukraine and the loss of human lives, unfortunately also among the Greek community in Ukraine. It is very important today for the Council to take strong decisions and sanctions against Russia. Moreover, all EU countries must contribute with obligatory solidarity to the protection of refugees, the genuine refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.’’
