The Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Sports and Integration, Mr. Joachim Herrmann, and members of the parliament of the German state of Bavaria from the Christian Social Union (CSU) were received today by the Minister and the Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarachi and Ms. Sofia Voultepsi, at the building of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, in the presence of the General Secretary of Migration Policy, Mr. Patroklos Georgiadis.
Their discussion focused on the challenges of migration and the need to find common effective solutions at European level.
The Bavarian Minister congratulated Greece for the important work it has done in border protection and migration management over the past three years, noting that efficient border protection in accordance with European and International law is a common position of the governments of Greece and the State of Bavaria.
At the same time, he agreed with Mr. Mitarachi that the existing challenges on migration can be addressed through a truly common European policy.
The Bavarian delegation visited earlier the Malakasa accommodation facility, where it was received by the General Secretary of Reception of Asylum Seekers, Mr. Manos Logothetis.
