Asylum Service Funding Agreement with the European Commission, code HOME/2018/AMIF/AG/EMAS0083 «Improving Access to a Fair and Efficient Asylum Process in Greece”

The Hellenic Asylum Service has signed a Grant Agreement ΗΟΜΕ/2018/AMIF/AG/EMAS0083 with the European Union (represented by the European Commission) titled as “Improving Access to a Fair and Efficient Asylum Service in Greece”. The Action will run for 16 months (01.06.2019 to 30.09.2021) and the maximum amount of the grant is EUR 10.207.624,66. The Hellenic Asylum Service will act as Action Coordinator and Beneficiary along with two other beneficiaries namely NGO METADRASI “Action for Migration and Development” and Hellenic Police (Ministry of Citizen Protection). The Grant Agreement will fund the provision of interpretation and translation services to the Asylum Applicants and the deployment of police officers to the islands of Samos,Chios, Lesvos,Kos and Leros who will help in the asylum process. Moreover, the Hellenic Asylum Service will hire 54 caseworks for 11 months, will rent new premises in Chios, Samos and Lesvos and will purchase necessary, for the Asylum process, equipment. The Action is funded 100% by the European Commission (AMIF).
