Notis Mitarachi was appointed Minister of Migration and Asylum in January 2020
and in August 2022 was made a regular member of the Government Council for
National Security (KYSEA). Previously, he served as Deputy Minister of Labor & Social Affairs (2019-2020) and as Deputy Minister of Development and Competitiveness (2012-2015). He is Member of Parliament for Chios with New Democracy Party (2015-present), while he was initially elected Member of Parliament for Athens A Constituency (2012-2015)..
Mr. Mitarachi had a multi-year international career in the private sector, before
returning to Greece in 2010. He started his career in London in 1998, as an
investment executive, specializing in industrial investments in Eastern Europe. In
2003, he joined Fidelity International as a Research Analyst and was promoted to
Director of Research. A graduate of INSEAD (MBA), Oxford University (MSc in Industrial Relations) and The American College of Greece (BSc in Business Administration), he is also Fellow of the British Chartered Management Institute and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
He has been awarded with the Grand Decoration with Shash (Grand Cross) of Honor in Gold of the Republic of Austria (2022), the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St. Agatha of the Republic of San Marino (2022), the Grand Commander of the Order of the Crown of the Kingdom of Belgium (2022) and the Grand Commander of the Order of the Apostle & Evangelist Mark of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa (2013).
Born in 1972 and married to Maria Dourida, an academic, with whom he has one daughter.
