Operation of Regional Asylum Offices until 9.5.2021

The Asylum Service informs the public, that in accordance with the measures for protecting the public health and preventing the spread of Covid-19, it can visit Regional Asylum Services only after scheduling an appointment. This includes interviews and registrations.

Regarding regional offices that operate within very high risk Covid areas, they are going to serve only urgent registrations, as well as lodging of appeals, delivery of travel documents and deposition of Dublin documents until May 9th 2021. A limited number of interviews will take place only for applicants who have been contacted by phone by Service staff to confirm their interview appointment. 

Services within very high risk Covid areas [according to the relevant Joint Ministerial Decision of 29-4-2021] are the Regional Asylum Office of Attica, Alimos, Piraeus, Western Greece, Thessaloniki, Lesvos as well as the Asylum Units of Amygdaleza, Corinth, Xanthi, the Asylum Unit of International Protection of Applicants under custody, the Asylum Unit for Applications by Pakistani nationals, the Asylum Unit for the Fast Track processing of Asylum Applications by Syrian Nationals, and the Unit for Applications by Albanian and Georgian nationals.

Remote interviews scheduled with RAO Lesvos will take place as planned.
