Asylum Service, on behalf of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, is an associated project partner to the project ”Strengthening the regional cooperation on migration management between Western Balkans and neighbouring EU Member States in accordance with EU Acquis and international standards – MIRCO“. The project is implemented by the Swedish Migration Agency of the Kingdom of Sweden, as a Lead Partner, in close collaboration with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia.

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the implementation of migration and asylum policy and procedures in the Western Balkans region, in line with the EU Acquis. The project is co-funded by the European Union and contracted by ICMPD through the Migration Partnership Facility. Moreover, the project, with a duration of 24 months (15/5/2024 until 14/5/2026) will contribute to enhanced regional cooperation on migration management, while strengthening good neighborly relations and the implementation of the Common European Asylum System's external dimension in the Western Balkans region.
